Adjunct Events
Calling all Drupal developers! We have space booked at the Sheraton hotel in Sunnyvale for a hackfest! 10am to 5pm on Sunday: be there!
Come with your brilliant ideas about the future of Drupal 6.x (and your laptops, of course!). Let's get some patches rolled!!
Leave a comment if you plan on attending.
Drupal contributor Derek Wright (dww) will be performing classical music of northern India on the oud, in a jugalbandhi (duet) with Annette Bauer on sarode, accompanied by Javad Butah on tabla. This is the first of three acts that night at the Ali Akbar College of Music (AACM), part of the school's Winter Concert Series. The concert is $10, $8 for AACM members and students.
San Rafael is on the other end of the San Francisco Bay (over the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, or the Richmond/San Rafael bridge from the East Bay) from the conference site. Depending on traffic, anywhere from a 1 to 2 hour drive from San Jose. There are detailed directions at aacm.org, or you can use this map. If you're interested in car pooling, please leave a comment.
Come and join Dries Buytaert (Drupal), James Walker (Bryght), Jeremy Andrews (CivicSpace) and Matt Westgate (Lullabot) in this one-day seminar as they provide valuable insight from their experiences in testing and tuning high-performance and high-traffic Drupal sites. Profits from this seminar will be donated to the Drupal Association.
Any members of the Drupal Dojo who want to get together for an hour or so to talk about where the Dojo group is going, etc.
Here's the plan:
The last scheduled conference events end at 5:15pm, but Yahoo's facilities are available until 7. I will make a sign and post a meeting place to gather at Yahoo! between 5:30 and 5:45. We'll likely gather in a common area and commandeer one of the rooms once they empty out.
Afterwards Happy Hour! Here? Directions.
Data and time TBD.
Some of the members of http://groups.drupal.org/newspapers-on-drupal will be coming, so we should invite all interested parties to get together to trade war stories and share some ideas about news in general, specific challenges to newspapers, and how Drupal helps us solve some problems.
